English Description
i drop my goggles into the water and the pool returns them (with reluctance) while droplets of liquid rust and laughter rise and fall and the water begins to feast. sinking, arms spread, eyes closed, quietly, the heartbeats pass – one, two, three. and in this satin embrace (serenity’s lair) eternity passes (too fast, too slow). another heartbeat; another eternity and i rise (slowly, so slowly, then suddenly; all at once) breaking the surface, it came with the quaking – a rumbling in it’s stomach that couldn’t be quenched. as metal and water tore up the sides and ate through the walls and serenity’s lair (quickly fading) quaked and sloshed, feeding an enormous hunger that couldn’t – wouldn’t be quenched. bare feet (that slip and fall) upon a tangle of plastic and wood, we run (quickly; slowly; quietly; loudly). and somewhere along the way i drop my goggles into the pool and the pool snatches them away (gleefully).
