JAKARTA--Members of JKT48, Indonesia's answer to the all-girl idol group AKB48, performed two of the Japanese ensemble's songs at an event held here Feb. 24.The concert, which the Japanese Embassy in Jakarta helped organize, was held to remember the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake and to thank the people of Indonesia for their assistance.JKT48, formed by AKB48 producer Yasushi Akimoto, is based in Jakarta and is AKB48's first sister group created outside of Japan.JKT48 sang "Heavy Rotation" and "Aitakatta" (I Wanted to See You) at the venue, where they were joined by three AKB48 members."I went to Japan twice," said a member of JKT48. " I felt encouraged to see how Japan was devoted to rebuilding efforts."
