It's official! Lady Gaga proclaims that Japan is safe now
English Description

While Japan is trying to tell the world that it is safe for visitors, there's no hotter or better spokeswoman than American pop superstar Lady Gaga to get the word out.

Gaga lamented the sharply decreased number of foreign visitors to Japan following the Great East Japan Earthquake at a news conference June 23 in Tokyo. She said it is very important to let the rest of the world know Japan is safe now, while raising funds for relief efforts is a great way of helping victims of the disaster.

To demonstrate, Gaga kissed a tea cup in front of the assembled media and promised to auction it to raise money for quake-affected areas. She said her lipstick mark on the cup is proof that it is the one she actually kissed.

The flamboyant pop superstar has been active in supporting the disaster victims of the March 11 quake and tsunami. She donated a portion of sales of her red-and-white rubber wristbands to rebuilding efforts, while writing songs for a charity album to support devastated regions.
