English Description

New photos show that the upper floors of the No. 2 reactor building at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant have emerged relatively unscathed from the disaster, although they are full of radiation.

Tokyo Electric Power Co. released photos of the second and third floors of the No. 2 reactor building for the first time on July 11.

"No debris was scattered, and no major damage could be seen," a company official said.

Radiation levels of up to 50 millisieverts per hour were detected.
