2011年3月、東日本大震災被災地において石巻動物救護センターが本格稼働のため情報発信を行った。その後同年、６月１日より宮城県獣医師会石巻支部が運営をすることが正式に決定、ボランティアの方に対する 有益な情報を発信する「ボランティア応援サイト」として運営していた。
