Item Description
It’s almost two years since the earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan on 11 March 2011. In ICON 096 (Oceans), Julian Worrall, a long-term resident of Tokyo, reported on the aftershocks of that traumatic event. For this issue, he revisits the disaster areas in the north of the country where architects and designers, such as Toyo Ito and his KISYN group, are contributing to Japan’s reconstruction.
