Since the earthquake, I have scaled back on my professional activities and instead been focusing on what I can do to support my adopted country. I now share my time between Japan and the UK — whilst in the UK I give free talks on Japan to schools and other community groups or organisations. The talks focus on Japanese culture, living in Japan, or the human impact of the earthquake and tsunami, and aim to inspire an interest in the country.
