Submitted by RIJS on
Item Description
6 August 2011Tetsuya Tanimoto and colleagues (April 30, p 1489)1 propose collection and storage of blood cells (equivalent to bone-marrow cells) from nuclear workers at the Fukushima nuclear power station, Japan, for possible use after accidental exposure to high-dose ionising radiation. We think that this recommendation is well intentioned but ill-advised for several reasons.
