HRN requests that the government of Japan, in its response to the current situation which has arisen after the Sendai earthquake, ensure that in all rescue, evacuation, repair and reconstruction processes, victims’ fundamental human rights are ensured in accordance with the Constitution of Japan, domestic legislation relating to disasters and international human rights law.
