English Title
Activity Report February 2012 - Resurrection of Fukushima
English Description
Collection of Soil Samples In order to perform radioactivity measurement separately by depth, the soil samples are preferably sliced into pieces sectioned by the depth. It is desirable to pull out the lump of soil in a columnar shape but it is quite difficult to do so. Specifically several centimeters from the ground surface is frozen so that it is very hard to dig out the soil. For this operation the members have found some farming utensil called “ANAKOURU”. This utensil is knocked and screwed into the frozen soil to pull out a columnar shaped soil. This utensil made the operation much more efficient however the side edge does not have any teeth so it is still hard to screw in. We are still seeking for a tool which enables collection of the samples with more efficiency and in a neat form.
