Activity Report April 2012 - Resurrection of Fukushima

As always, the weather turned bad as the weekend rolled around. The rain was rather severe on March 31st. In addition to the bad weather, since we had a lot of newcomers this time, we toured the village by car. Many newcomers are shocked to find that despite the normal looking fields and buildings, Iitate is deserted with not even a shadow in sight. Unlike the coastal areas heavily destroyed by the tsunami, there is no visible damage. However, there are no traces of people and no lights are lit in houses even when the night falls, giving off an eerie feeling. As it turns to summer, without doubt abandoned fields will dominate the scenery.
