My Experience

I was in Tokyo on March 11, 2011, attending school. Although we did not get the full blast of the earthquake, it was still a big shock for us all. It was a week until spring break and I was super antsy, just ready for school to end and to fly to KL for a fun spring break with friends. However, the earthquake and its aftermath changed many things. All in all, although we were in Tokyo, the earthquake affected my life significantly. Eventually, because of the radiation resulting from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, my father took a job in another country and planned for our entire family to move there. In the end, my the rest of my family ended up staying in Tokyo. Although we were not directly affected from the disaster, my family dynamic was greatly changed because of the nuclear meltdown.
