Aquamarine Fukushima | 3.11 Fukushima Legend
English Description
One of the largest interactive aquariums in Tohoku. It exhibits around 800 different species of creatures, themed around the tidal currents of the ocean.
The main building was damaged in the Great East Japan Earthquake, losing 90% of its exhibits, but reopened for business about four months later. Explanations are given in the theater and elsewhere about the situation after the earthquake and the process leading up to reopening.
