Ishinomaki City in Miyagi prefecture is the area greatly affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011. Documentary filmmaker Fujikawa Keizo stayed at Minato Primary School, one of the evacuation centers established in the area, for over 6 months after the disaster, capturing the lives of the evacuees in his documentary Finding Refugee in Ishinomaki. We’ll hold a special screening event of this film in Cybele Arena, Yamagata, on December 8.
