With Libya and Syria filling the headlines, Japan’s nuclear crisis was nudged into the shadows of the American consciousness last week. But, now, alas, it’s clear that this tragedy is very much unfinished. On Wednesday, Tokyo Electric Power Company read the last rites to four of the six reactors at its wounded nuclear plant, acknowledging an economic and engineering loss in the billions of dollars.
