A San Jose woman who was in one of the areas of Japan hit hardest by last month’s devastating earthquake and tsunami is now trying to raise money to help rebuild the region. Canon Purdy was in the town of Minamisanriku in the Miyaga Prefecture along the northeast coast of Japan when the 9.0-magnitude earthquake struck on March 11.
