My name is Steve Johnson and I am a teacher from St.Albert (Alberta). I was living and teaching in Japan for the past 8 years (and returned to Canada several months before the disaster caused by the earthquake and tsunami hit).I will be doing a charity walk for this cause (Gambaro JAPAN! Walk for Japan) from Edmonton to Vancouver from June 19th to July 26th.

Gambaro JAPAN!（がんばろうジャパン！）とは、日本で８年間外国語指導助手として働き、2010年秋にカナダに戻ってきた1人のカナダ人（Steve Johnson)が、東北地方の地震・津波・原発事故の被害に対し、遠く離れたカナダからでも何かできることはないかと考え出した企画。...この企画の最も重要な目的は、震災後の日本への物理的な支援以上に、Steveのプレゼンテーションなどを通してカナダの人々の心を日本に少しでも近づけたいというもの。1人でも多くのカナダの方に日本を身近に感じてほしい、日本がどんな国であるかを知ってもらいたいというのが一番の目的。それが今後日本への義援金の送付やその他いろいろな支援につながると信じている。
