by the area people have resided right after the disaster, every group showed about the same extent of
dental and oral symptoms. Distribution of tooth brushes were quite slow and people were not able to selfsupply
themselves, in shelters and relatives. While tooth brushes were not available, not too many rinsed
their mouth and frequency of brushing declined even after obtaining one. Also, dental/oral problems
were mainly resolved by dentists who visited shelters. However, that was not the case who stayed at
home or with relatives. 15 months after the disaster, most of who were at shelters or relatives moved
in to temporary housings. Comparing to the ones who stayed at home, they recognized higher rate in
brushing frequently, increased level of dental and oral condition, and also added knowledge of dental and
oral care. On the other hand, the same dental and oral symptoms existed in all groups, at the similar rate
as immediately after the disaster.
