English Title
I was at my high school during 3/11
English Description
I was a seventh grader who was attending my last class of the day, health. I was the first person in my class to notice the earthquake. We dove under our desks and waited for the shaking to stop. I could tell that this was a different kind of an earthquake, one that never stops. My teacher who was standing in front of the class was looking outside the classroom at the shaking poles. My friend who was holding my hand really tight was weeping. After the shaking finally ended, we quickly evacuated outside. I was assigned to take class attendance to make sure everybody was present. We stayed at school much longer than expected. The bus ride home felt extremely long since we could not ride the highway. There were so many people walking on the sidewalk that they spilled onto the street. Some high school bus riders felt like they would get home quicker by walking so they ditched the bus.
