今日は岩沼の海岸で瓦礫を撤去してきた。作業は陽が登ってから暮れるまで、土日も休まずやってる。瓦礫の撤去は震災の１週間後から始めた。最初は壊れた家を片づけると、ほとんど仏さまが出てきた。津波に流された家の多くは、中に人がいたんだ。流されて行く家の映像見たら、中に人がいると想像してけろ。テレビでは人が写ってるどごは全部カットか修正されでっけんとな。テレビ局には修正を専門にしてる人いるらしいよ。人を入れたまま、家は浮き上がって、転がって、瓦礫になったんだ。仏さまは泥にまみれて膨れでる。泥は口の中にまで入ってで、たいてい目を見開いてる。水の中は苦しかったんだべな。

Today, I was clearing debris on the coast of Iwanuma. We've been working from sunrise to sunset, even on weekends. We started clearing the debris a week after the earthquake. At first, when we cleared the damaged houses, we found bodies in almost every one. Many of the houses swept away by the tsunami had people inside. When you see footage of houses being swept away, imagine that there are people inside. The TV stations cut or edit out all the parts where people are visible. Apparently, there are people at the TV stations who specialize in editing. With people still inside, the houses floated, rolled over, and became rubble. The bodies were covered in mud and bloated. The mud was even in their mouths, and they usually had their eyes wide open. They must have suffered terribly in the water.
