I was asked to repair a house where water had flowed through the first floor. There was a "No Entry" sign on the gate. When I tried to go inside, a police officer rushed over. The house was being supported by only one cracked pillar. He told me not to go in because it was dangerous if an aftershock hit. He said if I insisted on going in, he would accompany me, but I had to be out in five minutes. In the end, the house couldn't be repaired and had to be demolished. When I'm by the sea and there's an aftershock, I worry that a tsunami might come. I keep the radio on all the time. But lately, even when a tsunami warning is issued, I don't evacuate every time anymore. That's probably when it's most dangerous. In Natori and Iwanuma, there aren't any tall buildings, so if a tsunami comes, it would be a disaster. It wouldn't be as embarrassing as getting caught in a tsunami while sightseeing among the rubble, though. Well, with all these things going on, the work isn't progressing very quickly.
