Item Description

On March 20, nine days after a devastating earthquake and tsunami struck Japan, a 16-year-old boy and his grandmother were rescued from their collapsed home in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture. Though trembling from the cold, they were able to muster their strength to speak, and it was a joy to see them alive. The pair's survival is a renewed message of hope to all the people who continue to participate in rescue efforts.
