ISHINOMAKI, Miyagi -- Ceremonies set the rhythm of Japanese school life. There are entrance and graduation ceremonies, ceremonies to open and close every school term and every school year. So on March 24, 12-year-old Misaki Nakano was at her school's end-of-year ceremony -- just two days after saying farewell to the body of her mother, killed by the March 11 tsunami when it tore into the city.
