震災からわずか50日余りでの福興市開催は、全国の商店街と連携した「ぼうさい朝市ネットワーク」の支援により実現しました。「ぼうさい朝市ネットワーク」は、津波などの有事の際にお互いに支援し合うことを目的に始まった取り組み。福興市実行委員会実行委員長の山内正文さんらが震災前に店を構えていた「おさかな通り」の商店主たちは実行委員会を組織し、このネットワークに加盟していました。

The Disaster Prevention Morning Market Network is an initiative started with the aim of providing mutual support in the event of an emergency such as a tsunami. The shop owners of Osakana-dori, where Masafumi Yamauchi, chairman of the Fukuko-ichi Executive Committee, had his shop before the earthquake, organized an executive committee and joined this network.
