Elder-care facilities swamped by quake evacuees in Kumamoto | The Japan Times

Submitted by MEFH on
Item Description
Facilities that care for senior citizens are finding it difficult to stay open in areas damaged by the strong earthquakes in Kyushu last month. Most of the facilities are running at full capacity after taking in waves of people fleeing devastated homes. Such of them are also being used as evacuation centers for younger people, putting a greater workload on their staff, who remain short-handed because of damaged transportation links.
