It is a project of The Howard Baker Forum's U.S.-Japan Roundtable on Nuclear Energy Cooperation. : After months of debate over how to set Japan’s future nuclear energy policy — and the expectation the government would announce a decision this week on a 15 percent nuclear energy contribution by 2030 — Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda has instead said the decision would come next week and he has hinted at completely ending the nation’s nuclear energy production.
