“Genki Mail” Project —Connecting the Great East Japan Earthquake Disaster Area and the U.S.
“Let’s cheer up the people in Japan!”
Just in two months from the Great East Japan Earthquake, more than 7,000 illustrated “Genki Mail (HopeMessage),” letters written by children all over the U.S. (as of June, 2011), had been collected to encourage the people in the devastated area. These “Genki Mail” contains messages such as “Don’t worry. We are with you. You are not alone” and “Cheer up. It will get better!” together with pictures of rainbows symbolizing hope and hearts.
