Item Description
As a kid, my experience of 3/11 was in a bus returning from a school trip. I never knew about the earthquake until one of the adults noticed looking through news on his iPad. We were supposed to arrive home in a hour or so, but it actually took us 11hours.
I remember that I was really upset getting home late that day, until when I got home and saw the actual video footage on the news. Cities were torn down by tsunamis, people had evacuated onto hills, and many people were unknown of their location. As a young kid, I was so shocked that I didn't know how to process what was going on. But at the same time, I felt guilt of how I was upset about a little thing.
My experience is no where near what the people of Tohoku had to go through; as part of a community in Japan, I will stand strong with them.
