This content is about an excerpt of a report on relief activities conducted by the Nagaoka Red Cross Hospital during the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. The excerpt is about essays contributed by the hospital staff members who engaged in activities at an evacuation center of Azuma Sports Park in Fukushima City in mid April 2011, one month after the earthquake and tsunami.
There were 3,000 evacuees for a while at the evacuation center set up in a gymnasium of Azuma Sports Park. Needs for the first aid station at the evacuation center were decreasing day by day, but needs from the evacuees were changing and issues came up as the evacuation was being protracted. The staff members wrote about the needs and issues in their essays.
