日本赤十字社では、「日本赤十字社本社災害救護体制要綱」にもとづいて、災害の被害の大きさにより第1次救護体制から第3次救護体制までを発令し、救護活動にあたっています。2011年3月11日に発生した東日本大震災においては、第3次救護体制が発令されました。第3次救護体制が発令された場合、社長を本部長とした「日本赤十字社本社災害救護実施対策本部」が本社内に設置されます。
The Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS) carries out its relief activities based on the command specifying the scale of the operation, from the first-level through the third-level relief systems, in accordance with the extent of the disaster as provided by the Guidelines for JRCS Headquarters Disaster Relief Systems. In the wake of the March 11, 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, a command for the Third-level Relief System was launched. In the event that the command for the Third-level Relief System was issued, the Headquarters of Disaster Control at the JRCS Headquarters (HDC) is organized at the JRCS head office, with the President as Head of the HDC.
