10月26日～11月27日までの間、唐津赤十字病院の中村亜希子看護師が活動に取り組みました。中村看護師は、ある30歳代の母親から「みんなに守られたいのちを大切に育てていく」という思いを聞くことができました。
震災当時、小学生の長男はとっさに次男の手を取り、こたつの中にもぐり込んで難を逃れました。空き地に避難中に偶然通りがかった3人の女子中学生らが、母親が家に戻っている間やさしく抱っこしてくれました。次男は、「僕はみんなから守られたんだよ」と言います。母親は、「皆さんに守られたことに感謝する気持ちを大切にしながら、未来をつくる子どもたちをがんばって育てていきます」と明るく語りました。
Ms. Akiko Nakamura from the Japanese Red Cross Karatsu Hospital was involved in the program from October 26 to November 27, 2015. A mother in her 30’s told Ms. Nakamura her thought: “I will cherish my sons whose lives were protected.”
When the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred, her older son who was an elementary school boy took his younger brother’s hand quickly and rushed together to take cover under a "kotatsu." A days later the mother and her sons evacuated to an empty lot in their neighborhood. Three junior high school girl students who happened to pass by the lot, hugged younger son gently until the mother went to home then came back. Younger son said, "Everyone protected me." The mother said pleasantly: “I will nurture my children, who will create the future, by always remembering my feeling of gratitude for protecting my sons.”
