Even until the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami occurred, the Fukushima Chapter had sent students of the Junior Red Cross member schools in Fukushima Prefecture to countries of Red Cross Societies to promote “international understanding and friendship” which is part of the Junior Red Cross goals. After the disaster, the Fukushima Chapter has called for participation in the program from not only the Junior Red Cross schools but also non-member high schools within Fukushima Prefecture. Participant students have conveyed the damage caused by the disaster in the countries where they visited and also expressed their gratitude for support they received after the disaster while interacting with the local youth. The Summary report of the visit to Philippine in 2015 is posted.
