日本赤十字社（日赤）は、2012年1月に福島県大熊町に対して給食運搬車を贈呈しました。大熊町は、福島第一原発事故の影響により、現在福島県会津若松市に仮役場を設置し、同市で町立学校を運営しています。温かい食事を提供したいという思いから学校給食を水平に運ぶことができる専用車を贈呈することになりました。

"We can have warm school meals!” - JRCS provided Okuma Town with a school meal delivery truck
English Description
The Japanese Red Cross Society provided a school meal delivery truck to Municipality of Okuma in January 2012. The Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident forced Okuma to move their municipal office function to Aizuwakamatsu City as well as their public schools. The municipality hoped to serve hot school meals for children and the JRCS provided a truck dedicated to carrying meals to schools from central kitchens.
