The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) held a conference regarding nuclear emergency preparedness in Tokyo on May14-16, 2011. The conference concluded with an agreement: an officer dedicated to nuclear emergency preparedness to be assigned at the IFRC; and specific actions to be discussed to educate the public for disaster prevention and improve disaster preparedness activities.
