福島第一原発事故直後に、一般の方にはなじみのない放射線の単位等が繰り返し報道されたことから、放射線医学総合研究所では、身近に使われる医療放射線や身の回りの自然放射線による被ばく、線量に応じた人体への影響、管理上の基準となる値等を一覧に示したものを作成し、同研究所のサイトで公開した。

Quick Chart for Dose Scale (National Institute of Radiological Sciences)
English Description
Right after the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, radiation measurement units which were not familiar to the public were reported many times by media. The National Institute of Radiological Sciences (NIRS) prepared a quick chart to help the public understand the reference radiation dose levels of health effects from medical radiation and natural radiation, and posted it on the NIRS website.
