From Jan. 6 to Feb. 7, 2014, Akiko Okata, a nurse from the Japanese Red Cross Suwa Hospital, worked on the health consultation program. She made 16 door-to-door visits and performed 101 interviews by telephone. She was able to learn health conditions of Namie people and how they were living over the phone, if not being able to visit them. She unexpectedly got words of encouragement from some of them. She renewed her aspirations, saying, "I was really glad to hear the unexpected warm words from the Namie people, which encouraged me to work much harder for them."
All the residents of Namie are still evacuated and the town remains as was affected by the earthquake.
