日本赤十字社（日赤）には地震発生以降、海外の赤十字・赤新月社などを通じて多額の寄付金（海外救援金）が寄せられ、その総額は1,001億円を超えました（2014年1月31日現在）。この企画展では、地震・津波による災害に加え、さらに福島第一原発事故の影響により長期間の避難を余儀なくされている福島県の被災者を対象に、日赤が海外救援金をもとに行ってきた復興支援事業の一部を紹介します。
Since the earthquake occurred, a huge amount of donation has been sent to the Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS) through the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies around the world (international donation). The total amount exceeded $1.001 billion (as of January 31, 2014). The programs introduced on this special webpage are some of the recovery programs conducted by the JRCS for the people of Fukushima who have been forced to evacuate for a prolonged period due to the effects from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident as well as the earthquake and tsunami.
