原発事故に伴う放射線の影響で避難を余儀なくされた浪江町民は、その多くが気候の似たいわき市に移り生活しています。町民はいわき市内各地の借り上げ住宅に住んでいるため、浪江町民同士が集まる場所も少なく孤立しやすい状況にあります。そこで、全国の赤十字病院の看護師、日本赤十字看護大学の看護教員がリレー方式でいわき市の避難者世帯を戸別訪問し、健康状態の実態把握だけでなく、慣れない土地で暮らしている方々の健康相談や、こころのケアを行っています。
Due to the effects from radiation following the nuclear accident, the people of Namie were forced to evacuate Namie. There are many people evacuated to Iwaki and living there, because the weather is similar to Namie. They live in private rental housing in Iwaki rented by the Fukushima Prefectural Government. The people tend to be isolated with very few community places for people from Namie to get together. Nurses of Japanese Red Cross hospitals across the nation and faculty staff of the Japanese Red Cross College of Nursing have been working on the programme in relay and making door-to-door visits to the people to understand their health conditions, and provide health consultations and psychological care.
