飯舘村は、原発事故に伴う放射線の影響により全村民が避難生活を余儀なくされています。このため川俣町内の土地を借用し、三つの飯舘村立小学校が共同で使用する、仮設のプレハブ校舎を建設しました。しかし、仮設体育館の建設が計画時には国庫補助の対象ではなかったことから、財源に苦慮していました。そこで村からの要請により、日本赤十字社はこの設置費用を助成しました。

Support for Construction of Temporary Gymnasium_JRCS Recovery Programmes in Fukushima (Educational support)
English Description
Due to the effects from radiation following the nuclear accident, all the residents of Iitate were forced to evacuate Iitate. A temporary prefabricated school building was constructed for three Iitate elementary schools in Kawamata. However, the construction of a temporary gymnasium adjacent to the temporary school was out of scope of the national government’s subsidies. Therefore, Iitate had difficulty in funding the construction. Following a request from Iitate, the Japanese Red Cross Society supported the fund for constructing the temporary gymnasium.
