楢葉町では、保育園と幼稚園を兼ねた町立「あおぞらこども園」が閉鎖を余儀なくされていましたが、多くの町民が避難しているいわき市の明星大学が所有する敷地内に、こども園を再開することになりました。日本赤十字社は、こども園の園舎や、こども園と同じ敷地内にある小中学校の遊具、体育用備品の整備のための費用を助成しました。

Support for Construction of Child Care Centers_JRCS Recovery Programmes in Fukushima (Educational support)
English Description
The municipal government of Naraha was forced to close “Naraha Municipal Aozora Child Care Center” which was also used as a kindergarten. A decision was made for the center to be reopened on the premises of Meisei University in Iwaki where many people of Naraha have been evacuated. The Japanese Red Cross Society financially supported the construction of the child care center and provision of play equipment at the center, an elementary school and a junior high school located on the same premises and equipment for physical education for those students as well.
