Schools within the designated evacuation area were moved to other area due to the effects from radiation following the nuclear accident and school kitchens in their evacuation locations were lacking cooking implements. The Japanese Red Cross Society provided cooking implements and dishes to help the schools to provide meals as usual and dietary education.
