福島県では、原発事故の影響により将来にわたる福島県民の健康管理を目的として、全県民約200万人の県民健康管理調査を実施しています。福島県立医科大学附属病院では、既存の医療機器だけで県民健康管理調査を実施することが困難となっており、日本赤十字社（日赤）に支援依頼がありました。将来にわたる福島県民の健康管理を目的として、日赤は県立医大の医療機器の整備にかかる費用を助成しました。
The Fukushima Prefectural Government has been conducting Fukushima Health Management Survey on all residents of about 2 million to continue to monitor their health conditions due to the effects from radiation following the nuclear accident. It was difficult for the Fukushima Medical University Hospital to conduct the Fukushima Health Management Survey with only their existing medical equipment. The university hospital requested the Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS) for support. For this reason, the JRCS supported the fund for medical equipment for the hospital to continue health management of residents in Fukushima.
