From May 12 to June 6, 2014, Shohei Nishida, a nurse from the Oita Red Cross Hospital, worked on the health consultation program. This time the activities were the second round of the door-to-door visiting. He felt that the people from Namie are regaining their calm three years after the earthquake.
Many people from younger generations are living in Iwaki by creating a new relationship with their new community. On the other hand, some elderly people are not able to get used to their new living environment in Iwaki and are instead staying housebound. Mr. Nishida says, “I feel those elderly people who are living separately from their family members are getting more isolated, which worries me very much. Having family members is very important.”
