2014年6月9日から7月4日までの間、福岡赤十字病院の河野万美看護師が活動に取り組んだ。初めて会う町民の皆さんに警戒されることもなく話ができるのは、日赤が長く健康調査を続けていることや、広報活動によってその実績が少しずつ周知されているためと感じられる。訪問を通じて、「家を失うこと」「家に帰れないこと」のつらさをあらためて考えさせられた。
被災地の皆さんの苦しみは、他の地域の方にとっては分かりにくいことかもしれない。福岡に戻ったら、避難生活は決して終わっているわけではないことを、みんなに伝えたいと思った。
From June 9 to July 4, 2014, Kazumi Kawano, a nurse from the Japanese Red Cross Fukuoka Hospital, worked on the health consultation program. She says, “I met the people for the first time, but they talked to me without being distrustful of me. I realized this was because the JRCS has been involved in this health consultation program over a long period of time and the PR activities have been allowing the results of the program to be recognized little by little among the people from Namie.”
She felt, “It may be difficult for people living in other areas to understand the suffering of the people affected by the earthquake and tsunami. Back in Fukuoka, I want to tell other people that the evacuation lives of the people from Namie are not over yet.”
