大津赤十字病院の東日本大震災救護活動報告の中の、原発事故の影響で楢葉町から会津若松地域に避難してきた住民の巡回診療を行った「河南班」の活動報告書です。
津波から避難した住民は、続いて発生した原発事故の影響により、一度も自宅に帰宅することなく、着の身着のままで何か所もの避難所を転々としたため、憔悴しきっていました。また、避難住民だけではなく、自らも被災者でありながら避難住民を守るために働いている、自治体職員などに対しての支援活動の必要性も強く感じました。
This is part of a report about relief activities conducted by the Japanese Red Cross Otsu Hospital during the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. This part is about relief activities by Team Kawanami that provided mobile clinic services for the evacuees from Naraha Town to Aizuwakamatsu area due to the nuclear accident.
The evacuees evacuated their area after the tsunami without taking their belongings and the nuclear accident following the tsunami forced them to travel to several evacuation centers without being ever able to return to their houses. The evacuees were exhausted. The local government's employees who were also survivors of the disaster were working hard to protect the evacuees. The team strongly felt that the assistance should be also provided to the local government's staff as well as the evacuees.
