This content is about Chapter 2 of a report of relief activities during the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami conducted by the Japanese Red Cross Nagahama Hospital. This chapter chronologically describes discussions and decisions made at the hospital's headquarters of disaster control.
The hospital's relief team left Fukushima without providing relief activities due to the increased air radiation levels. Because traveling by car from Nagahama to the affected area was hard for the hospital's team, the car was parked at the Niigata Chapter and they traveled by train. Some relief team members were anxious about being dispatched to Fukushima. The hospital ordered the members to take potassium iodine tablets before leaving the hospital for the affected area. These descriptions are also included in this chapter.
