2011年11月23日～12月1日、スイス・ジュネーブ世界の赤十字社・赤新月社とそれぞれの政府の代表が集まり、今日の人道課題について協議を行った。今回は、東日本大震災の発生後、初めて開催される赤十字全体の国際会議となることから、原子力災害が発生した際の国際的な支援と協力のあり方、および大規模災害発生時により効果的な国際支援を実現させるためのルール作りなどについて協議することになっており、日本赤十字社から今回の震災での経験を踏まえた提言を行った。スクリーンに映し出された近衛国際赤十字・赤新月社連盟会長(日本赤十字社社長）

In Nov.,2011, an international conference with Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in the world was held in Geneva, Switzerland. At the conference, the Society suggested to develop international corporation scheme for preparedness in case of nuclear disaster as so this is the first ever conference after nuclear disaster caused by Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant accident.
