福島第一原発事故発生時、日赤には原子力災害に関する十分な情報がなかったことからその活動に制約が生じました。今後は原子力災害の発生に備え、これまでの活動実績や経験の分析で得られた情報を対外的に発信して行くことが重要と考え、赤十字原子力災害情報センターを設立しました。同時に、その情報発信を実現するための手段として、デジタルアーカイブシステムを構築しました。

English Description
When the outset of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident occurred, the JRCS did not have enough knowledge about nuclear disasters. This led to constraints in its relief activities. The JRCS thought that preparedness for nuclear disasters and sharing its activities and experiences with external parties would be important. Therefore, the JRCS established the Red Cross Nuclear Disaster Resource Center. At the same time, as a tool for fulfilling the purpose of information sharing, the Digital Archives was also established.
