2016年7月4日から8月5日までの間、水戸赤十字病院の志賀久美子看護師長が活動に取り組みました。
健康調査も4巡目ということで、4巡目の方ばかりかと思っていましたが、4年間福島県を離れて他県で生活しながらも、最近になっていわき市転住された方など、今年いわき市に移動してきたという方も結構いらっしゃって驚きました。その中で、ご高齢の方では、地域との繋がりもできず、あまり家から出ないという方も多いようです。今回は、1日に2件ずつの訪問をさせていただいたのですが、2時間くらいのお話でも最後まで傾聴するには、ちょうどよかったと思いました。被災の辛い話だけでなく、趣味などの他愛のない話もゆっくりと時間をかけてお話させていただき、とても喜んでいただけて嬉しかったです。
From July 4, 2016 to August 5, 2016, Ms. Kumiko Shiga, a nurse from the Japanese Red Cross Mito Hospital, worked on the program.
The JRCS health consultation program is now in the fourth round and Ms. Shiga expected that all of the people she was going to visit would also be receiving the consultation program for the fourth time. However, that was not necessarily the case. Quite a few evacuees moved to Iwaki City this year. One of them lived in another prefecture for four years after the earthquake and just recently moved to Iwaki. Many of elderly evacuees have only a few opportunities to talk to their neighbors in their new communities and stay at home for the rest of a day. During Ms. Shiga’s duty period, she visited two families per day for a health consultation. Since some evacuees talked for about two hours, she thought that two was a justified number to allow her to listen to them fully. Ms. Shiga was able to spend enough time listening not only to their hard experiences during the disaster but also casual topics like their hobbies. She says that the evacuees were very pleased with her visit and she was happy.
