2015年12月、スイスのジュネーブで、国際赤十字・赤新月社連盟に加盟する190の赤十字社が参加する国際赤十字・赤新月社連盟総会（以下、連盟総会）と、これに続くジュネーブ条約締結国の政府代表団も参加する赤十字・赤新月社国際会議が開催されました。
連盟総会に先立ち、原子力緊急事態への備えに関するサイドイベントが開催され、日赤がスポンサーをつとめました。サイドイベントでは、福島と東京の学生3人が福島第一原子力発電所事故に関する発表を行いました。この発表に関して、各国の参加者からは、「ここ数年で聞いた発表の中で、とても印象深いものだった」などの感想がありました。

In December 2015, the General Assembly of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) was held in Geneva and joined by 190 National Societies, followed by the International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent which was also participated by states parties to the Geneva Conventions. Before the IFRC General Assembly, a side event on nuclear emergency preparedness sponsored by the JRCS took place. At the side event, three students from Fukushima and Tokyo made a presentation about the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident. Some participants from other National Societies commented that this presentation was the most impressive one of the presentations that the participants have listened to in the past few years.
